Jodie has been involved in the Fashion Industry for over 20 years. It all started in a little hippy shop on the Gold Coast where she was introduced to the art of sewing on an old foot treadle machine. She then turned her focus onto a Fashion Design Diploma where she learnt pattern making, millinery, sewing skills and merchandising. Her creative path led her onto costume design where she was making ballet, tap and jazz outfits for little girls helping them feel like princesses. On returning to her home town of Cairns in tropical FNQ she began visual merchandising for companies dressing front of store windows. On the weekends she explored the country markets selling a range of clothing she had acquired on her overseas travels. This then led her to Kuranda giving life to her dream, a humble little store in a beautiful rainforest setting.
Zaphire has evolved over the years and is now on the main street of Kuranda. We are expanding our vision and hope to have an online presence with this website and social media platforms. We are in the process of designing our own label and supporting Australian designers as we grow. We want Women to feel special and remind them how Wonderfully diverse and powerful Women can be and ARE.
Please drop by and follow us on our Journey.
Love from us at ZAPHIRE. X
