Fabric Guide and Care Instructions

Rayon is a fabric made through a man-made process utilising a blend of natural fibres such as tree cellulose, wood pulp, leaves of plants or other plant-based material.

Rayon has very thin fibres, which allows it to breathe more than other fabrics and gives it a lightness that prevents it from sticking to the body in hot weather.

Since it is so comfortable and cool to wear, Rayon is an especially good fabric for summer dresses as it also drapes beautifully making it our number 1 choice.

It is naturally more forgiving than Cotton too, as it dries with minimal crinkling and has a wonderful silky, slippery feel and gorgeous sheen.

Whilst it is our favourite fabric at Zaphire, especially for our tropical  weather, Rayon can shrink if washed in warm water or tumble dried.

Although we endeavour to use high grade pre shrunk Rayon, we recommend cold hand washing and drip drying to ensure the best care and longevity of your garments.

Cotton is one the best fabrics for hot weather.

Cotton is soft, natural, lightweight, breathable, and absorbs perspiration, allowing heat to escape the body and for you to stay cool.

The down sides to cotton are that it can wrinkle easily, requiring ironing, possibly shrinks in hot water or dryers and can fade in sunlight.

It is still a very popular natural choice of fabric for many and why we feature it here at Zaphire.

Linen is another top choice for a natural, breathable fabric to wear in hot conditions.

It is light and is also very loosely woven which allows heat to escape from the body. It absorbs a lot of moisture and dries quickly, keeping you cool and dry.

It tends to be stiff, but that also means that it is not sticking to your body.

Linen naturally wrinkles often, but this is a popular element, as a lot of people view it as part of the style and appeal of linen.

Care Instructions: Machine Wash, Drip/Line dry or low Cool heat in dryer.
